Desert Holiday Outfit
Blush cashmere sweater (similar here and here) // Black high-rise skinny jeans // Leopard loafers // Gucci belt // Prada sunglasses (similar pair) // LV handbag // Pearl earrings (similar here and here)
This year we’re celebrating the holidays with our families in both Arizona and Virginia. That’s right, we’re hopping all over across the country, so it’ll be hectic but fun too!
It makes packing a little tricky of course, packing for both warm and cold climates but this is our 4th year doing it so I’d like to think we’re pros at this by now 😂.
The trick is packing warm but thin layers (like cashmere and merino wool) and sticking to a color scheme so that you can mix and match items to create multiple outfits. Neutral colors work great for this and you can add pops of color with accessories if you wish.
This outfit was perfect for the day. My top is cashmere in a pretty blush color - very much in tune with my inner romantic 😍. I really like the bow detail on the shoulder too. A couple of other similar styles here and here as well. There are some beautiful cashmere tops that are relatively affordable in the $100-200 price-range that are worth snagging if you can find them. It’s one of those fabrics that are soft to the touch, incredibly warm, and add a nice degree of sophistication to any outfit. Plus, they’re usually very light and are easy to pack! A cashmere sweater is a must-have staple in your closet.
I’m a petite girl so finding pants can be tricky but I found these Madewell pants that are made for petites! I wear them all the time. To add some dimension to this neutral outfit, I wore these Sam Edelman leopard loafers and my Louis Vuitton Pallas handbag, mixing exciting patterns to spice things up! Last but not least, a pair of large dangling pearl earrings is perfect for adding a touch of glam.
With it being in the 70s during the day but dropping to the 40s at night, it can be tricky to pull together an outfit. It means paying extra attention to layers! What are some of your favorite pieces to wear if you live/travel to the desert for the holidays?
