Black and White for Date Night

Shop the look

Our weekends used to be spent wedding planning and while those days were fun, I love now having weekends for date nights! With nicer weather these days, I've been bringing out the skirts out. This striped skirt is adorable and goes with so many things. I love the little pleats near the waist and how it poofs out a little to bring a sweet, romantic look. You can never go wrong with a black and white outfit - it consistently speaks elegance! Since I'm petite, I feel that having a pattern in either the top or bottom (e.g. striped skirt) helps to achieve a more elongated look a monochrome outfit would have. I like to pair it with this black top with lace detail (similar option here) and top it all off with a fun pair of shoes (these are at least $800 less than the designer version!).

This weekend my husband and I went to a Brazilian restaurant called Minas in Hayes Valley. The food was delicious! The atmosphere was quaint and cozy with the warm yellow-painted walls and cultural artifacts on display. The staff was also very friendly and offered us cocktails on the house when our table wasn't quite ready yet (yum, caipirinhas!). We then went to listen to some jazz around the corner at Mr. Tipple's. The place is always crowded but we were lucky to snag a table at the front near the stage. The band was fantastic! If you go, go there early to get a seat!

If you've been to Minas or Mr. Tipple's, or if you know of any other Brazilian restaurants or jazz bars, share them in the comments below!
